Anti wrinkle Injections are an extremely popular treatment to target dynamic wrinkles that become static with time.
Anti wrinkle injections work by injecting a medication named botulinum toxin into a targeted muscle. Most people know this medication as 'Botox' (however this is a brand name and there are others you may have heard of such as Dysport, Xeomin, Letybo etc).
Over time as we age we start to lose collagen & elastin from our skin. This loss of proteins combined with our constant use of facial muscles start to create fine lines and wrinkles that are present even at rest. This can create a tired, aged, sad or angry appearance that bothers people.
Anti wrinkle injections are able to relax or soften the muscle contraction, thereby preventing or reducing the movement that creates those lines. It's important to remember that these injections will not eradicate static lines, but will give some softening. Other modalities can be used to treat the static wrinkles in combination with anti wrinkle injections.
Results won't take effect immediately, with effect usually noticed in 5 days or so. Maximum onset of medication is 14 days after treatment and at this time if a top up to any muscle is needed it will be done at this point.
Longevity of anti wrinkle is approximately 3 months, however it can vary with individual dependent on numerous factors.
Side effects, longevity, aftercare, risks and questions will be discussed prior to your treatment taking place.
